I Put A Spell On You

February 26th, 2010 | music

I actually thought this was a joke when I saw Kristen Merveilleuse link to it. But no. This is actually Shane MacGowan, Nick Cave, Johnny Depp, Chrissie Hynde, Glen Matlock and a shitload of others covering "I Put A Spell On You" as a benefit record to aid Haiti reconstruction. Pre-order it here.

  1. Holy crap, Chrissie Hynde still has a voice that can tear paint off the wall. I love hearing her hold her own with all these other gravel-voiced dudes.

  2. Is it just me, or is this a little, um, crap? I’m all for charity, but this alterna-We Are The World seems forced and stale. Does its role mean it should be critiqued differently to other music?

  3. That’s way better than the “We are the World” shit remake.
