WARREN ELLIS is a graphic novelist, author and columnist. His new novel, GUN MACHINE, available now from Mulholland Books, is being developed for television by Chernin Entertainment and FOX. His first non-fiction book, from FSG, is due in 2014. RED 2, the sequel to the Bruce Willis-Helen Mirren film RED based on his book of the same name, will be released in August 2013.

This is the volcano that was the subject of the stmulus package’s set-aside for volcano monitoring, made fun of by Lousiana’s Republican governor Bobby Jindal during his rebuttal to Obama’s address to Capitol Hill earlier this year.
We actually had a show canceled on us because of this bastard. At first we were bummed, but then we realized how many bands can say they’ve actually had to change plans due to VOLCANO!?
Yeah that show getting ashed out was lame. Amusingly the local comic shop closed early, but all the suckers who were working that night at my work didn’t get to leave early despite it sounding like some of that crap was getting vented in.
Yep, that’s the baby in my backyard. Hey, we had an earthquake yesterday, too. Humdrum narbingers of apocalypse… and lots of great pictures at the Alaska Volcano Observatory site.
