  6. Warren….

I’m very sorry to hear that. I lost my mother a few years ago, so I know how hard these things can be to deal with.

I also know you’ll eventually get over it and move on.

    Best wishes!

  7. My deepest condolences, Warren, to you and your family.

  8. Condolences to you and yours, Warren. I lost my father to complications from cancer therapy in 1990, so I can understand where you’re at right now.

  9. I recently lost my father (he was the same age as your mother), so I think that I know how you feel. His death was very sudden though and I wasn’t able to be there at the end for him. I hope that you are able to pass through your grief and eventually feel better about things. Embrace those around you because they are the ones who will help you get through all of this. I offer my condolences to yourself, your family, and everyone whose lives were touched by your mother.

One day it will be better.

  10. I’m so sorry. You and yours have my deepest sympathies.

  11. My condolences for you and your family Warren

  30. My condolences, Warren.

  31. Warren, my heart goes out to you. She must have been a hell of a woman, if she gave the world you.

  32. It’s a horrible, tough, mind-breaking time. But do please try to hold on to the love, and the memory of moments shared, and the happiness that was made. Deepest symapthies to you, Warren.

  33. In December of last year my mother went through a very rapid and hard end from cancer. Her situation was quick – I was with her the last two weeks of her life. Short term or long it’s never easy to lose a parent; the exchange of responsibility, the exchange of caregiver roles is very often finally made in that time of illness. Losing one’s “ultimate” caregiver- one’s mother- is I think, very likely even more powerful an event.

Remember to take care of yourself through what may be a hard time for you- the stress can take its toll.

My condolences to you and your family.

(I’m sorry, I don’t have anything witty to add.)

  43. I am very sorry for your loss. My mother is fighting her own battle against breast cancer and I know the pain and uncertainty for her and for all of us. Know that any battle well fought is a battle won.

I hope you find peace after sorrow and know that there are thousands of us who are fans of your work that are standing with you.

    Take care.

  44. Mr. Warren Ellis:

My deepest sympathies for this dreadful event. I opened up my e-mail to read BADSIGNAL and immediately came here to give you all my energy and respect. I know what it’s like losing a parent, as I’ve lost my father over to cancer as well. The only good to come out of this is that she isn’t suffering anymore, and (speaking from personal experience) you develop an uncanny ability to love those who you care about even more. Love doesn’t die, it just gets re-distributed, and grows in time… as well as memories. In your heart, in your genes, she will live on as the one who gave birth to you and filled you with love. And that’s what matters.

All my love and respect, Mr. Ellis.

  45. I’m so sorry. Do what you have to, just make sure to take care of yourself. We’ll be here when you get back.

  46. Sorry to hear that. My condolences to you and your family.

  47. My condolences, Mr Ellis.

Do take care of yourself. We’ll be here when you get back.

  48. Everything else I started to say seemed trite.

I’ll be thinking of you, and her, and calling my own mom today.

  49. Lo siento, amigo.

  50. I’m so sorry, Warren.

  51. Condolences offerd.

  52. You have my most sincere and profound condolences Mr. Ellis. I lost all four of my grandparents to cancer and more recently one of my closest friends to AIDS. It’s tough, but judging by the responses here you aren’t alone.

  53. I’m sorry to hear that Warren. You have my condolences.

    Alex

  54. Best wishes, Warren.

  55. I really have no understanding of what you’re experiencing. I just want to wish you the best and hope that you’re ok.

  56. sorry for your loss.

  57. I’m really sorry, Warren.

  58. Mr. Ellis-

Incredibly sorry to hear that. Cancer has hit my family twice this year as well, and all I can say is that time helps.

    Failing that, so does whiskey.

    Justin

  59. Warren,

My deepest sympathies. Take care of yourself and your family.

  60. There’s not much I can say other than that losing parents ranks up there on the fucking rough scale of experiences, and I’m sorry for anyone who has to go through it. I lost my dad a little over a year ago to cancer irony (they got the tumor, and his ticker kicked it before the week was out), so you’ve got my sympathies.

  61. Deepest sympathies, Warren. Keep your head up.

    -Frank

  62. Very sorry to hear that, Warren.

Best wishes to you and your family.

  64. I do not have any words that can soften your loss… remember the love you shared.

  65. My deepest sympathies go to you and yours, Warren.
The grieving will lead to reflection, then the pain will go away.
    Best wishes.

  66. Shit. We’re all sorry to hear that, Mr. Warren, sir. Take care.

    Chris

  99. As a fellow writer, a fan, and a human being, I humbly offer you my deepest condolenscences. Even if you’re sick of hearing them by now. I know how it is to lose a parent, and I don’t wish it on anyone. Though I’m sure the loss is huge, and many tears are yet to be shed, whatever suffering those last ten years might have given her is finally over; she is at peace, and we must all be glad of this, and never forget the woman that she was.

That’s all I’ve got. Take care, Warren, and don’t allow the whores of evil to loiter on your porchstep, beckoning you into the brothel of despair.

I have no personal experience of losing a loved one, and am generally pretty crap at being sensitive.
(Once I actually walked into a room and said “who’s died” due to the miserable looking faces, totally forget my step-mother’s Dad had been fighting alzheimers for 5 years – Took me months to get my foot out of my mouth)

I don’t know if this post will make any difference, I know it won’t bring her back.
