Microtronic

November 27th, 2008 | music

Tieum & Lenny Dee’s "Microtronic" has been fascinating me all afternoon. Not least because it sets out to just vaporise any possible audience. You can’t dance to it, it’s not Hardcore, it’s not industrial enough for Industrial, it’s not fucking drum’n’bass or jungle no eMusic I do not care if you say it is wash your fucking ears out, and the kid on YouTube who called it "terrorcore" needs to go home to his fucking mummy.

What it is is Bloody Loud. And I don’t know about you, but what I really needed today was something big and alien and metallic and Bloody Loud.

(Note also that, no, it’s not a video, someone just uploaded the track to YouTube with a static image.

This is off the EP that’s also called MICROTRONIC, on the Altern-Hate label.

  1. Reminds me a little of Atari Teenage Riot. Or, it reminds me a little of some of their songs.
For those that do not know ATR: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8Z8pO8ipN0

But if you feel like Bloody Loud… maybe some Lightning Bolt?

  2. That sounds like a nice bit of Gabba to me. Had a great weekend a while ago at the Wrong Music tent at Glade with all this sort of nonsense.

  3. If The Sonics and GnR can both be said to be doing Rock music then I can’t see why we can’t call this noise music. It’s just newest incarnation of noise music. Sounds like Duran Duran Duran, Drumcorp (or any of those Cock Rock Disco kids really), could also be Rolo Tomassi without the metalcore vocals. Hell there are bands like this springing up all over the planet and have been for the past 3 years at least.
But if someone starts calling this Nu-noise I will drag them to the arctic circle and kneecap them and leave them for dead.

  4. Fuckin’ A, that WAS awesome! I wonder what Trent Reznor would think of it? Reminds me of the remix of NIN’s Where is Everybody, not to mention the third remix of Starfuckers Inc. (both on Things Falling Apart).

  5. That needs to stop yelling at me.

  6. This is marvelous. If i had to call it anything, it would be noise. Total sonic insaity, and fun as all hell to listen to.

  7. If nothing else, a song with a man yelling that something “sucks fuckin’ big moose cock” in the first moments deserves some play.

  8. It’s pretty straightforward gabba…a little off-kilter maybe, but no so left-of-centre as to be unrecognisable. I have a large section of my hard drive devted to this kind of stuff. And you can dance to it. Easily. In fact, that’s pretty danceable in comparison to some of the stuff people are knocking out on laptop sets at the moment.

  9. Sounds like what we used to call hardcore techno before some belgian invented gabba. certainly lives next-door to industrial.

  10. yep. this is just gabber plain and simple.

Lenny Dee is teh legend… no coincidence his label used to be called Industrial Strength.

    Anyone heard any Bloody Fist?

  11. You can dance to it, for unreasonable definitions of dance.
Also agreed on it being gabber.

  12. Hey wats up visit my blog for some hardcore music
