Sometimes also know as L’Orchestre Tout Puissant Likembe Konono No. 1, this is a group of Angolese/Congolese musicians who work with handmade amps and percussion and the likembe instrument, an electrified thumb-piano that sounds like the rawest, dirtiest, most blown-out guitar you ever heard. This is driving, clanging, stamping music — tribal, street party and primal fucking rock.
