Today I have officially broken ground on ASTONISHING X-MEN: SECOND STAGE. Which is to say, I’m writing notes in a document, rather than in an email. For the first time, there’s a file beginning axm2s on my desktop. By the end of the week, it will be filled with half-coherent jabbering, a bunch of barely-related photos, and hideous sketches scanned from my notebook, all addressing a bunch of designs and re-designs I want to deal with ahead of the actual commencement of scripting. This is a big job; essentially, a 24-chapter, 500-page graphic novel structured in four phases. Starting today.
