I Love Independent Bookstores

Thank you, Milwaukee:

If Chuck Palahniuk was kidnapped, Raymond Chandler was resurrected, their DNA was spliced together, and the mad scientists responsible for those events wanted something to read on lonely nights in the lab, Crooked Little Vein would be the result…

  1. Thanks so much for the link, Warren. I’ve now got a grin from lobe to lobe that won’t leave for days. I love independent bookstores too. Where else can an employee interact with an author without corporate interest being served (aside from the great equalizer called the internet)? Keep the fantastic words coming, and I’ll be here to read them.

  2. You should check out this new social Networking site, goodreads.com; it interface draws from Netflix and the better aspects of Myspace (without the ads)… So far it seems genuinely concerned with becoming a reader database..Anyhow, the point is, CROOKED LITTLE VEIN is making the rounds (I’ve posted a teaser review there), and people are marking it as ‘to read’ in anticipation… People are also reviewing Graphic novels/collections.

  3. Nice. Now I am being teased AGAIN over this book.

  4. And I know how you hate to be teased.

  5. I met Mr. Palahniuk once. Book Signing. I confessed to him that I have never read any of his books and I never intend to. When pressed for advice for the aspiring he told me, very plainly “Don’t die”.

    Your advice was better.

That said, I’m having my scumfuck roommate steal a copy of your book for me as soon as we find him, he’s been missing for a few days. I’m sure he’ll turn up. Or he’s dead. Whichever.

  6. Exactly. *I* do the teasing. In fact, I’m so good, I get paid for it.
