Working In American TV In A Nutshell

April 25th, 2007 | people I know

John Rogers:

“Great! We finally closed the deal for the TV pilot!”

“I’m really looking forward to this. When do you think I have to turn in the first draft?”

“End of April.”

“… THIS April?”

  1. And you have six episodes to make it a hit or it’s cancelled! And we’re changing your time slot twice!

  2. If this were a DVD Premiere script it would be 90 pages in the same amount of time and we’d have to work :
    – “special locations” (meaning free and ready to be demolished),
    – “certain talent” (the director’s girlfriend who does have on-camera experience — in porn),
    or
–”wardrobe” (a decaying latex rubber creature suit used in three films previously)

    into the movie.

    But I’m not bitter… ;D
