Women Destroy Men: Official

July 20th, 2006 | researchmaterial

Sharing a bed with someone could temporarily reduce your brain power – at least if you are a man – Austrian scientists suggest.

When men spend the night with a bed mate their sleep is disturbed, whether they make love or not, and this impairs their mental ability the next day. The lack of sleep also increases a man’s stress hormone levels. According to the New Scientist study, women who share a bed fare better because they sleep more deeply…

  1. Farting is the best defense we’ve got.

  2. Is there a Dr Dave Sim heading that study?

  3. This is why Nerds will take over the world. All this time online will pay off oneday

  4. That makes sense, as far as evolution goes — if males are sexually sated but on edge and more violent, they’re more likely to reproduce (and defend that genetic inheritance so that it survives to reproduce…)

  5. that amuses the hell out of me and every other woman that retreats to the couch at night because the lover snores too much.

clearly, i have’t been stealing my quota of precious life energy.

  6. the term of women sleeping more deeply is true, from my past experience. one ex i dated never slept more than a couple of hours straight, she always did short sleeps in successions. this came from bad experiences from being abused by her father while she slept when she was younger.
when we started sleeping together, she managed to actually sleep deeply, in one shot. she claimed it was the first time she’d been able to do that. sometimes i just couldn’t get her to wake up in the morning, when she used to have the opposite problem before we met.

  7. My first question is what about male homosexuals? Do they have a different stress reaction, or does the presence of another male somehow negate the negative effects.

  8. I wonder how much of this is truly evolutionary.
It might be related to the current psycho-socio-sexual confusion 21st Century hetero males are faced with.

On the evolutionary front it could be that once a male shares his bed he needs to be more alert and sleep less deeply to aid responsiveness to threats in order to protect a mate. Or it could all be bollocks. We should really wait until the findings are duplicated…

  9. We’re just waiting for the chance to sneak away.

  10. garret: They would both sleep poorly. It’s not the as though the women are sucking the energy of the men up into their mighty vaginal vortexes. It’s that men don’t have the same power to ignore the outside world while they sleep.

  11. It’s not the as though the women are sucking the energy of the men up into their mighty vaginal vortexes.

    Are you SURE about that?

And would you even tell us?

    Of course you wouldn’t.

  12. I can’t sleep worth shit when someone is in my bed.
Of course I’m an insomniac and a light sleeper as is.
But I sleep much deeper and longer if I have no one around, kinda prefer it that way lately.

I think they need to do more research.

    But I like Kim’s response:)

  13. Hey, don’t blame them for you being a mutant.

  14. So the best sleep in creation is to be found in a bed filled with women?

    Mother was right!

  15. heh heh. vaginal vortex.

anyway. i sleep better, i’ve found, with someone else in bed with me. most of the time.
but i’m apparently a very deep sleeper.

  16. Fluoride, I’m tellin’ ya. It’s in the water. Those bastards stealing our essence. Jack D. Ripper had it right all along!

  17. My wife won’t be happy to hear this. Thanks Warren! Your site has made my life more difficult, again. This explains why I’m such a bastard at work.

  18. I am now going to plant a bomb in my significant other’s vagina. My sleep deprivation has now been explained. Wait for it…BOOM.

  19. SEX IS EVIL

Yeah, because “I love boobies” is very confusing.
