Xanga Wakes Up

April 22nd, 2006 | researchmaterial

Xanga appears to have finally gotten its act together, with an overhaul of its networking system and a “profile” front-end that looks like it’s going to turn into the kind of modular user panel Tribe had.

With LiveJournal moving to a partially ad-supported framework, and Loudwire still left for dead, this might be a smart move on Xanga’s part. If a little late.

One Response to “Xanga Wakes Up”

  1. The livejournal advert thing is, I think, being overblown somewhat. It’s being applied as a middle tier between free and paid-for accounts, and the benefits for running adverts are pretty minimal – a few extra userpics, some picture storage, and posting via mobile phone. I don’t think it’s quite the shark-jumping move that so many people seem to be claiming.
